The Guinness Book of World Records vs.Word Walker

March 2010

I've always wanted to get into the Guinness Book of World Records. I got bored one day and decided to see how I stack up against a few world records.

Here are three of the records I tried to beat:

Record 1:

Fastest time to solve a Rubik's Cube: 7:08 seconds by Erik Akkersdijk.
Me: N/A (Tried but never solved one)

rubikscube

In the time I wrote this sentence, Erik Akkersdijk could have solved 5 Rubik's Cubes. Wow!

Record 2:

Longest time spent holding breath: 17 minutes, 4 seconds by David Blaine
Me: 42 seconds

Not even close. I think David Blaine must be half fish. I wonder what colour he turns after holding his breath that long.

Record 3:

Most underwear at the same time: 137
Me: 4

I got to four before it got really hot and uncomfortable.

rubiks cube

Not as easy as I thought. I guess beating world records takes a lot of practice and sometimes just the willpower to stuff oneself into 138 boxers.
