The Fantastic Thief Mr. Fox
My favourite book as a child was Fantastic Mr. Fox by Roald Dahl. It's exciting that a movie version is coming out soon!
<
I despised the farmers in the story: Boggis, Bunce and Bean. The were everything wrong in this world: selfish, crude and greedy. Mr. Fox was the hero trying his best to save his family from starvation.
Now I see things a little differently.
I still believe that the farmers are evil...
But look at the story from their perspective: they're trying to make money while everyday somebody takes some
of their products without paying.
Imagine running a lemonade stand and having someone take two lemons before you get started. That is stealing! Mr. Fox was a thief! Don't get me wrong; I still love the book. It's fun. But you can't tell me anymore that Mr. Fox is fantastic.
So I ask you-
Who is the REAL villain in Fantastic Mr. Fox?
The Farmers for being selfish, crude, greedy and refusing to share their products? Or Mr. Fox for stealing the products of the farmers without paying for it? Take this poll and tell me what you think!
