My dad has always been a calm, controlled person. When I tell him about something cool, all he usually says is, "Oh yeah? Neat." It's hard to get emotion out of him.

The one thing that gets my dad riled up is boxing. My dad is a huge fan of Manny Pacquiao, considered by boxing experts to be one of the best of this generation. My dad definitely agrees.

When Manny Pacquiao fights, my dad is non-stop excitement. He talks out loud as if Manny could hear him through the TV. He yells at Manny to punch, to defend and offers congratulations during round stoppages. My dad paces, claps and occasionally jumps. During the crucial moments, my dad doubles his activity.

It's quite a spectacle.
It's as entertaining as the boxing match.

My dad and boxing are a funny mix.
